Kleeman and Mike at AtomFilms.com! Visit the site and watch Kleeman and Mike again! PLUS, I put a secret easter egg on the atomfilms version! Just type the letter "k" anytime during the video and you can see a few DELETED SCENES! portfolio section and working links sections up. In other news, Kleeman and Mike a failure! The animation failed to get in to the Ottawa International Animation Festival (web animation category).

New site is here. Still working on some parts. Let me know if you have any technical problems. I added the classic Jellybean Underworld series from 2000 to the comics section. New episodes of Fellowship coming... I'm desperately looking for a job right now. If you know anyone hiring cartoonists/illustrators/webdesigners/animators/etc. let me know. I got student loans to pay! Next update will be soon.

My apologies for not keeping the Fellowship of the Parakeet series coming and for slacking on the news section here. I'm working on an animated cartoon which will be on the site in April. I will post the rest of the Fellowship eventually. I promise! I plan to finish school this Spring and hopefully I'll get a job in the animation world writing or storyboarding. More news soon...

Been working some freelance gigs, one of 'm illustrating a college textbook on Bio-informatics, which has been fun. (Example below) Plan to start cranking out the Fellowship of the Parakeet. Thanks for your patience.

part of the "cast algorithm" illustration I did for the textbook.

Site's back up. Sorry it took so long, Been busy with school.
If you live in the L.A. area, come to the reception for a cool art show this Saturday June 7. It will be on the entire 9th floor of a building on Wilshire and La Cienega in Hollywood. I will have a piece there, and the reception will be fun! Here's the site: 9thfloor.ucsd.edu
I've been working on a new epic Kleeman and Mike saga titled "The Fellowship of the Parakeet," which is going to be far longer than anything I've done before. Probably at least 30 pages, maybe more. It just keeps getting bigger.
I finally put up the results from the animal race episode. So go read the episode again, guess the answers, then check out the results. The race is here.
ALSO, I've added 14 old episodes to the bottom half of the 2001 section in the comic archives , including the Cat of Monte Christo series.

Greetings. It's been a month of Sundays since we've talked. I'm sorry I've been slacking on the comics. I'll be cranking out some new ones first thing next year. There's a possibility that Kleeman and Mike might start running in the UCSD newspaper The Guardian.
I started painting a lot this past quarter, including a few large scale KnM paintings

UCSD Prof Phel Steinmetz was passing by on the walkway above my studio and took this photo. I didn't even know he had taken it until he handed the photo to me in class one day. This is a cool photo, so I had him sign it for me! |
First week of Dec. we moved the ramp from my studio into the gallery at the Visual Arts Facility for part of a meshfm media/sound/art event. Meshfm is a collective of art grads who do some great stuff. I'm hoping to do some more with them in the future.

I have added a new section to the website where you can check out every page of my sketchbook.
There are some new additions to the sadly neglected links page.
I hope everyone who requested the new stickers enjoyed them. Cobras are cool. There are still some left (stickers, not cobras), so if you want some, just email me and I'll send 'm to you.
Also, Several NEW Kleeman and Mike stickers will be out early next year! Once again, I'll be mailing them out to anyone who wants them free o' charge. If you want to know when they come out, get on the Kleeman and Mike mailing list by emailing me at rc .at. kleemanandmike.com.

New website is here! And a new comic at long last! Thanks to all who have been so patient with me.
Thanks to those of you who came out to the CalArts show last month. I am in debt to Ben White, horses could use him, and Shane Hope for all the help building the ramps (and to Ben also for getting me the space).
No sign of publication on the horizon. Kinda depressing sometimes that not only do I not make a dime from doing all this crap, but I actually pay money to keep this site up and post these stupid cartoons. I'm really not bitter though, and I hope you like the new stuff. ok?

Yes, there are finally some new cartoons. Did you like this week's super cartoon? For those who are curious, the fine print reads "Where is all the cartoony?" and "All your cartoony are belong to us." Last line a reference to All Your Base Are...

My promise of continuing the weekly strips after the demise of Break was a lie. I'm too lazy to do those stupid episodes without some kind of deadline. I sent K and M packets to seven major syndicates and was categorically rejected by all. My apologies to everyone who has been asking about new comics. I am actually still writing new ones, just not cleaning them up for publication. It's too tedious and boring.

June 6 will be the last publication of Break Magazine. The Democrat, which owns Break, is simply ending publication. Apparently, a scaled down, crappy version will somehow be included with the Friday Limelight section of the Democrat. According to my sources, though, the odds of Kleeman and Mike remaining on board in this Limelight attachment are pretty low. Who knows, though. I am very thankful to Lynda and Reda at Break for all the support they've given me. Always keeping me on page 3 and full color! The cover of the Christmas issue! You guys are great!
